Gary Maclean - Chef Lecturer at the City of Glasgow College

Gary Maclean has been a Chef Lecturer at the City of Glasgow College for 16 years. A passionate educator, his dedication to enriching the students experience is well documented. Gary enjoys the challenge of competing and feels it’s a unique opportunity for his students to push the boundaries, requiring extra commitment and focus while further learning the importance of team work, logistics, timing and delivery of Culinary excellence (win or lose).

Over the last 20 years he has accumulated a host of national and international wins from competitions such as the Nestle Torque D’Or, World Skills Culinary Arts UK Finals, Craft Guild Awards 2015, The Nations Cup 2015, CIS Awards to name but a few. His alumni include young chefs who are now working at Buckingham Palace, Dumfries House and several Michelin star restaurants including Knockinaam Lodge,  L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon, Martin Wishart, Number One – Balmoral Hotel.
